RALLY FOR RECOVERY
Each September, UJA brings together thousands of its supporters for an entertaining in-person fundraising event to launch its Annual Campaign. However, in 2021, due to COVID, we were challenged with transitioning their flagship event from in-person to virtual while upholding quality, engagement, and giving from prior years.
To achieve this, we conceptualized, developed, and produced a high-caliber virtual event. Using broadcast media techniques, our bespoke production & technology processes, and an array of original content we developed in Toronto (pre-event), we executed their most successful, online event to date, helping UJA raise their $60M Annual Campaign Funding.

CREATING A DYNAMIC AND ENGAGING EVENT
UJA wanted its 2021 annual campaign launch to symbolize uniting together as a community to Rally For Its Recovery.
Our objective was to inspire and invigorate attendees, combining multiple segments of original content that showcased the resiliency of their community, its supporters, as well as inspiring messages from their team and short stories about their impact during the pandemic.
We combined this with a live broadcast including hosts and numerous contributing moderators as well as multiple short films created by UJA that expanded on their accomplishments during COVID
CREATING ORIGINAL CONTENT
Prior to the event, we traveled to Toronto to produce a series of short segments that would be used throughout the evening run-of-show.
We invited dozens of their community members to film inspiring messages and reflections.
We produced a short documentary highlighting the work of UJA throughout the pandemic.
We pre-recorded a series of speaker presentations and a virtual panel with world-renowned speaker Simon Sinek.
BUILDING A REMOTE BROADCAST STUDIO
To bring their event to life, we transformed the main concourse of their new office building into a visually stimulating remote broadcast studio.
Rather than going live-to-air with the hosts and moderators, we opted to pre-record all segments in advance, allowing us to creatively edit the recordings to ‘feel live’, removing any possibility of errors that maximized quality and delivery.
DEVELOPING A CUSTOMIZED EVENT WEBSITE
To create a seamless experience for attendees, we built a custom event website and interactive fundraising remote, allowing guests to attend and donate from home with just one link.
The site also encompassed core messaging from their annual campaign, capturing the attention of supporters with core messaging while attending the event.
This approach increased attendance and engagement due to its ease of use as well as giving through the dynamic remote.
CREATING CUSTOM GRAPHICS
To drive engagement, we created powerful motion graphics to support the pace, energy, theme, messaging, and dynamic calls-to-actions throughout the event.
This approach added to our a broadcast feeling, delivering an energetic pace that kept attendees entertained and engaged throughout.
We also used the graphics to reinforce powerful messages, share sneak peeks into the evening, and present unique calls-to-action.
